Basically I’m thinking of buying some from eBay, however I need to know if it will be compatable with my PC, so what is it I need to check my PC against with the RAM?

Kansieo.com
goto crucial.com they have an option to scan your computer and it will tell you everything you need to know on what kind of ram you can use, of course they will want you to buy it from them, but you can just take the info. you can also just put in your computers make/model and it will pull up the same stuff.

You need to establish which RAM by either checking manually for the motherboard and then looking at the compatible RAM avaialblr for that.
Or…
link to the site below and let Crucial tell you the compatible RAM.
If your motherboard is old Pentium 4 or earlier it may matter which metal is on the contacts and the number of chips on each side. More recent RAM tends to be compatible with more motherboards.
